musical instruments donated to Yuzhno Central Children's Music School

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Russia, January 20, 2011 – The Central Children’s Music School of Yuzhno held a special ceremony and concert today to announce the donation of new musical instruments by Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL).  The company purchased the school a Yamaha piano, acoustic guitar and clavinova electric piano.  “Thanks to the generosity and continued support of Exxon Neftegas Limited, these new instruments will not only enhance the quality of music education for our students,” said the school’s director Galina Zrazhaeva, “but also the many talented young musicians throughout the Sakhalin region.”

Each year ENL supports various initiatives to improve quality of education in the region and raise cultural awareness, particularly among schoolchildren.  In addition to today’s donation, the company has also previously purchased new musical instruments and stage decorations for Okha Art School #1.  Additionally, ENL has been actively supporting the Yuzhno Chamber Orchestra for over a decade in their providing of classical music lessons in Yuzhno schools and performances in the northern districts of the region.
