The Sakhalin-1 Consortium, operated by Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, announced today that the project has set a new world record for extended-reach drilling (ERD). The Z-12 well at the Sakhalin-1 project achieved a measured depth of 38,322 feet (11,680 meters), or over seven miles. This exceeds by 1,306 feet (398 meters) the prior world record set in 2007 by the project's Z-11 well.
“We are proud of the project's safe and environmentally responsible production operations, which deliver revenues to the Russian state and Sakhalin-1 co-venturers," said James Taylor, ENL Executive Vice President.
Sakhalin-1 Consortium Provides Portable Housing for Earthquake Victims

SAKHALIN-1 CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCES LOADING OF THE 100th TANKER IN DE-KASTRI, KHABAROVSK KRAI

The Sakhalin-1 Consortium operated by Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, announced today loading of the 100th tanker with crude oil at the DeKastri export terminal in Khabarovsk Krai. The first tanker was loaded one year ago in September 2006. Since then, on average every three-four days tankers have been departing with the Sakhalin-1 crude oil, Sokol, delivering the oil to global markets. Each tanker carries up to 720,000 barrels (100,000 tons) of crude.
Exxon Neftegas Limited Contributes to Nevelsk Earthquake Relief Efforts

Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), the operator for the Sakhalin-1 Consortium developing the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas project, and the Consortium members announced in a ceremony held today in Okha that they had invested significant funds for needed improvements at the local hospital, including medical treatment and diagnostic equipment. These major improvements will allow the clinic to significantly enhance the quality of medical services available to residents of Okha, as well as supporting the Sakhalin-1 project's nearby production and construction sites.
EXXONMOBIL ANNOUNCES DRILLING OF WORLD-RECORD WELL

Exxon Mobil Corporation announced today that its subsidiary, Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), has completed drilling of the Z-11 well, the longest measured depth extended-reach drilling (ERD) well in the world. Located on Sakhalin Island offshore Eastern Russia, the record-setting Z-11 achieved a total measured depth of 37,016 feet (11,282 meters) or over seven miles.

Exxon Mobil Corporation today announced that phase one of the Sakhalin-1 project offshore Eastern Russia, led by its subsidiary Exxon Neftegas Limited, and including affiliates of Rosneft, RN-Astra and Sakhalinmorneftegas-Shelf, Sakhalin Oil and Gas Development Co., Ltd. and ONGC Videsh Ltd., has reached its targeted peak production rate of 250,000 barrels (34,000 metric tons) of oil per day.

The consortium led by Exxon Neftegas Limited, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation, and including Sakhalin Oil and Gas Development Co., Ltd., ONGC Videsh Ltd. and affiliates of Rosneft, RN-Astra and Sakhalinmorneftegas-Shelf, announced today the commissioning of the crude oil export system for the multiphase Sakhalin-1 project offshore Eastern Russia. Construction has been completed on a 24-inch, 140 mile (225 kilometer) pipeline to transport crude produced from wells in the Sea of Okhotsk and processed onshore at Chayvo, west across Sakhalin Island and the Tatar Strait to the newly-constructed DeKastri terminal in the Khabarovsk Krai in the Russian Far East.

As a result of a competitive tender process, a contract is being awarded to Bouyguesstroy (Russian subsidiary of Bouygues Batiment) teamed with a local company Transstroy Sakhalin for the office construction. Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), operator of the Sakhalin-1 Project will commence an extensive training program for 48 trainees on the 20th November 2002 in Yuzhno. The trainees, all from Sakhalin, will be trained to operate the Sakhalin-1 oil and gas facilities currently under construction. They represent ENL's first technician training class. ENL plans to train similar groups in 2003 and 2004 to meet overall operating technician requirements.

United Metallurgical Company, JSC (UMC) announced today that that it has been awarded a contract to supply a portion of the line pipe for the Sakhalin-1 Project. The Sakhalin-1 Consortium will develop three oil and gas fields offshore Sakhalin Island in the Russia Far East. The project is operated by Exxon Neftegas Limited. The line pipes will be supplied by the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant, a subsidiary of UMC.

This work is for the development of onshore oil and gas processing and well-site support facilities for the Sakhalin-1 Project.
