EXXON NEFTEGAS LIMITED OPENS NEW OFFICE BUILDING
Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, August 2, 2007 -- Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), the operator of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium and an ExxonMobil subsidiary, today held a ceremony in connection with the opening of its new office building on Sakhalinskaya Street in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Distinguished guests, including Sakhalin Oblast Governor Ivan Malakhov, members of the Sakhalin-1 Authorized State Body and representatives of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium participated in the ceremony.The new ENL office is equipped with a computerized climate-control network and state-of-the-art fire-security system. The building's three structural units -- eastern wing, western wing and the central part -- significantly enhance seismic stability.
At the ceremony, ENL Executive Vice President Jim Taylor said "We came to Sakhalin with serious intentions to be good neighbors and want to be a part of the local community for years to come."
The building is designed to accommodate 400 workers. Currently, there are 340 employees in the office, and more than 75 percent of them are Russian nationals. The design provides a comfortable, safe, secure and productive work environment for all.
ENL office structure style complements the overall architecture of the city. The five-story building is designed to follow the bend of the nearby Rogatka River. The river bank is reinforced and equipped with concrete stairs. A lighted walkway has been built along the river, connecting Mira Avenue with Dzerzhinskaya Street.
A multi-level parking garage within the complex can accommodate 200 vehicles for workers and visitors.
Information for Editors: The Sakhalin-1 Project includes the Chayvo, Odoptu, and Arkutun-Dagi Fields. Plans call for the production of approximately 307 million tons (2.3 billion barrels) of oil and 485 billion cubic meters (17 trillion cubic feet) of gas during the implementation of the project. In addition to Exxon Neftegas Limited (the operator of the project with a 30% stake), the Sakhalin-1 Project Consortium includes the Japanese company Sakhalin Oil and Gas Development Co., Ltd. (30%), the Indian company ONGC Videsh Ltd. (20%) and two Russian companies Sakhalinmorneftegaz-Shelf (11.5%) and RN-Astra (8.5%), both companies are Rosneft affiliates.
