Exxon Neftegas Limited Contributes to Nevelsk Earthquake Relief Efforts

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, September 3, 2007 -- Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL), an affiliate of Exxon Mobil Corporation, today announced a contribution of approximately 4 million rubles (US$150,000) to support relief efforts following the recent series of earthquakes in Nevelsk, Sakhalin Island, in Russia's Far East. ENL's contribution is for the area's reconstruction and rehabilitation programs.

ENL continues to work with the Nevelsk District Authority and Sakhalin Oblast Adminstration in relation to longer-term relief efforts. Additionally, ENL employees in Sakhalin are responding to the needs of the Nevelsk community through personal donations of money and clothing.

"Exxon Neftegas is saddened by this terrible tragedy," said James G. Taylor, Executive Vice President of Exxon Neftegas Limited (ENL). "Four ENL employees reside in Nevelsk and thankfully all are safe. However they are among the more than 8,000 Nevelsk residents who have lost their homes. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the victims of the devastating earthquakes who are in urgent need of assistance."

Information for Editors: Exxon Mobil Corporation is one of the major investors on Sakhalin Island through its affiliate Exxon Neftegas Limited as the operator of the Sakhalin-1 Project. The project includes the Chayvo, Odoptu, and Arkutun-Dagi Fields. Plans call for the production of approximately 307 million tons (2.3 billion barrels) of oil and 485 billion cubic meters (17 trillion cubic feet) of gas during the implementation of the project.
