Safety Management

  • Management commitment and leadership will drive worker involvement to focus on incident prevention processes
  • In the event that an incident does occur, the learnings will be applied to continuously improve the other elements
  • Contractors and suppliers must apply the principles throughout all phases of the work
  • Hazard awareness of construction activities
  • Training in, and applying safe work practices
  • Tools suitable for the task
  • Job site safety meetings -- "tool box" talks
  • Site tidiness and safety information
  • Wearing appropriate safety attire

Safety Responsibilities

Sakhalin-1 Consortium:

  • Set safety policies, objectives and obligations for contractors
  • Influence, monitor, and coach General Contractor and Subcontractors in safety management expertise

General Contractor:

  • Develop, implement, resource, & verify Site Safety Plan
  • Manage the safety considerations of the site
  • Specify project safety requirements to Subcontractors and monitor adherence

Subcontractors:

  • Execute the work in a safe manner by adherence to project safety requirements
  • Work with General Contractor and the Sakhalin-1 Consortium to positively influence their safety performance
