Safety Policy

Exxon Neftegas Limited is a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil Corporation, the world's premier petroleum company. As with every project its subsidiaries undertake anywhere in the world, planning for safety, health and environmental protection begins early in the development stage. The Sakhalin-1 Consortium shares this vision and through its Operator, Exxon Neftegas Limited, is committed to continuous efforts to improve the performance in these areas of its operations. The Sakhalin-1 Consortium and its operator, Exxon Neftegas Limited, are deeply committed to high levels of Safety, Health and Environmental performance.

To achieve this the Consortium operator, Exxon Neftegas Limited, uses a comprehensive framework to help manage risks, known as the Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS). This system is fully consistent with the voluntary international standard for environmental management systems, ISO 14001.

The Consortium and its operator, Exxon Neftegas Limited, strictly observe all the laws applicable to its business and expect its contractors and service providers to operate to the same standard. But we don't stop there. Even when the law is permissive, the Consortium will choose the course of highest integrity. And we have a program to communicate that policy and monitor its performance at all levels of the project.

The Consortium also believes that business success requires more than superior operational and financial performance. We strive to keep our operations safe and environmentally responsible.

  • That commitment is a guiding principle for the Sakhalin-1 Consortium, its operator, and all of its employees and contractors.

Safety Principles

  • Safety is our first business priority
  • Safety is a core value of the Sakhalin-1 Consortium as reflected in our Project Safety Credo
  • Safety vision is an incident free workplace
  • ALL Contractors must also apply these values in their work for us
